Set on 27 acres of rolling pastureland and native bush, the lodge offers panoramic views over lush valleys and is home to native birds, including kiwis, two highland cattle and two resident peacocks. The lodge itself is a spacious five-bedroom Canadian-style log home, originally constructed in Canada from white pine, then disassembled and rebuilt in New Zealand. Two of the four tastefully decorated bedrooms are north-facing and feature en-suite bathrooms and private balconies overlooking two of the property's four large ponds. Despite sharing the main house with the hosts, the expansive 736-square-meter dwelling ensures ample privacy.
Amenities include a communal games room, a pool table, a large lounge with an impressive stone fireplace for relaxation, a bbq and a sauna for cold winter days. Guests can also enjoy a private bush walk through the QEII National Trust native bush on the property.
